The Cure for Anemic Bass Tones

With the Electro-Harmonix Battalion on your pedalboard, anemic bass tones will be a thing of the past. Sculpt your sound with a 4-band EQ tailored specifically to bass guitar. Forge growling overdriven bass lines with a MOSFET distortion circuit. Place the EQ before or after distortion for an array of interesting tones, or EQ your dry tone and blend to taste. Add thump and sustain to your playing with a built-in compressor, while a noise gate keeps your signal clean. Enjoy easy integration with your rig, by virtue of a range of flexible I/O. Whether you use it as a DI or as a front end for your amp, the Battalion will satisfy your tone cravings.
Sculpt your sound with a four-band EQ

The Battalion's 4-band EQ encompasses the frequencies that are most vital for bass guitarists: Bass affects frequencies below 200Hz, with Lo Mid providing boost/cut at 280Hz. Mid gives you boost/cut at 750Hz, and Treble tackles frequencies above 2kHz.
Inject your bass with extra thump and sustain

If you need more thump and sustain, the Battalion's compressor is just the ticket. It also evens out your playing, creating a balanced sound that really shines when employing slapping and other dynamic techniques. The compressor features its own push button, amount control, and LED.
Three signal flow modes yield unique tonal variations

At Sweetwater, we appreciate the level of flexibility that the Battalion offers. Three signal flow modes unlock a plethora of tonal possibilities. In the Pre EQ mode, the distortion section comes after the compressor and before the EQ. The Post EQ mode places the EQ after the compressor and before the distortion. The Dry EQ mode puts the distortion section after the compressor, but only your dry signal is affected by the EQ.
Add growling overdrive to your bass lines

You can achieve an array of distorted bass sounds with the Battalion, thanks to its MOSFET distortion circuit. This circuit's Level knob sets the output level of your distorted signal, while a Blend knob allows you to control the mix between dry and distorted signals. Crank up the distortion's intensity with the Drive knob and adjust its high end to taste with the Tone knob.

One Control Crimson Red Bass Preamp
One Control Crimson Red Bass Preamp
One Control
The Crimson Red Bass Preamp was designed to reproduce the iconic old school 60s and 70s electric bass sound by giving the bottom end a boost at an extremely low distortion level. Bjorn's Description The Crimson Red Bass Preamp allows us to relive the sounds of bass amplification before extreme clarity, thanks to 400W amps and tweeters, was a thing in the bass world. The CRB reproduces the sound similar to a single 15" or 18" setup. CRB allows you to control 3 main characteristics: Volume: Output volumeBrilliance: Bandwidth control. At maximum, treble can pass. Whereas at the most counter-clockwise position, only bass is amplified.Gain: Boost control. The Crimson Red Bass Preamp can be used as a preamp to modern bass amplification setups while bringing back that old school feel of a 60s upright bass and 70s electric bass. ?- Bjorn Juhl

Absolute Control The Microtubes B7K Ultra features all the versatility and sonic possibilities its predecessor is known for plus amazing features: (1) A dedicated Footswitch to engage the overdrive section independently. (2) A Master volume to control the overall unit level. (3) Three way toggle switches for each mid control, with a total of 6 different mid frequencies at your disposal the B7K Ultra allows you to create and tailor your tone to perfection: From crisp, punchy clean preamp to obliterating high gain distortion, and everything in between. The B7K is an universal tone crafting machine. Master Whereas the Level Knob controls the output of the overdrive section the Master volume adjusts the overall volume of the unit. Ideal for fine tuning the output on clean mode. It also serves as a DI level control. Blend Mixes the clean input signal with the overdriven signal. The clean signal remains at unity gain while the volume of the overdriven signal is set by the Level knob, allowing for fine control of the blend ratio. Level Sets the volume of the overdriven signal. Drive Sets the amount of saturation in the overdriven signal. Attack Switch Sets the amount of treble content to saturate: The "Boost" setting emphasizes the treble content extra clarity and presence. The "Flat" position leaves this register untouched while the "Cut" position will reduce the amount of high frequencies being saturated. Grunt Switch Sets the amount of low frequency content to saturate by selecting between three different bass boost levels before the clipping stage. Bass +-12dB @ 100Hz Lo Mids +-12dB switchable 250Hz, 500Hz and 1kHz Hi Mids +-12dB switchable 750Hz, 1.5KHz and 3kHz Treble +-12dB @ 5kHz Direct Output A balanced version of the ¼” output, useful for running into PA’s or studio mixing consoles. One Control Sonic Silver Peg
One Control Sonic Silver Peg
One Control
The Silver Sonic Peg reproduces the sound of an iconic 70s tube amp with a similar name. This highly responsive bass pre-amp is adaptable to any style of play. With a dynamic tone range similar to the original amp, the switch on the side of the enclosure allows for a boost/cut of 15dB. Evidently, this pedal is perfect for any bass player.?? Designer's description With every pick of the strings, a certain attack is added which in turn creates power and momentum for the band. And with each slap, thick sustain adds a color to the bass tone, along with an important dignified presence. In my opinion, all bass amps should respond dynamically to speed and power. Monumental vintage bass amps have a vibrant coloring, wide tolerance and a deep breath that can correspond to any genre. We captured the sound similar to the 100W "V4" tube amplifier released by Ampeg in the 1970s. Since 1969, the sound of the electric bass was changed forever. The "SVT" came into the world. The "SVT" amplifier, which has been described by many as a "legendary amp", revolutionized the bass world. To the best of my knowledge, SVT is the first bass amplifier to adopt a speaker cabinet with a higher resonance frequency than the bass sound of the bass guitar. The V series, the successor of the SVT model, also has the same characteristics. The 8 "× 10 cabinet of the V series also has a higher resonance frequency than the sound of the bass guitar. Additionally, the player will experience low distortion and phenomenal power. Sonic Silver Peg succeeded in reproducing the power of the legendary amplifier by installing the Volume control at an early stage in the circuit. In addition, like the original, Sonic Silver Peg has an active Mid knob that realizes a boost / cut of ± 15 dB centered around 800 Hz. The Tone knob controls the low pass filter which can sweep from 300 Hz to 10 kHz. And, with the 0 dB / -15 dB switch, it is also possible to switch the sound of the two original inputs. From a clean, craftsmanship bass tone to colorful and powerful overdrive tones. Since there is a sufficient output level, it can also be outputted directly to a mixer. This pedal creates the craved universal bass tone that everyone is looking for. Try the Sonic Silver Peg for yourself. - Bjorn Juhl

Old Blood The Fault Overdrive/Distortion
Old Blood The Fault Overdrive/Distortion
Old Blood Noise Endeavors
Something is pushing through you to get somewhere else. Zero in. Find it. What is it? Where is it going? Is it here for good, for bad, or for nothing at all? I can't tell you. I'm still trying to communicate with it myself. You can feel it though, right? Some something that may not even be matter, a charge without center, rushing through you. Asking only to get to the center of it all. Taking you with it. The Fault Overdrive/Distortion is the drive you didn't even know you needed. It can push your amp over the edge, provide a sensitive drive for a clean signal, or act as an all out distortion for your chugging rhythms or singing leads or noise experiments. A Bypass switch turns it on and off. Volume makes it louder. Gain 1 sets the intensity of the first gain stage, and can go from light and sparkly to tight and crunchy. Low, Mid, and High each cut or boost their respective frequencies - scoop it, hump it, flatten it, whatever your heart desires. Low is a 100 Hz shelf filter, Mid is 500 Hz bell, and High is 3 kHz shelf. Gain 2 is activated by the Gain 2 footswitch - if it's off, it does nothing. If the knob is all the way down, it does nothing. But turn the switch on and the knob up and you'll find increasingly heavy distortion in a pedal you thought was only an overdrive.

Beetronics WhoctaHell Low Octave Fuzz
Beetronics WhoctaHell Low Octave Fuzz
Beetronics FX
The WhoctaHell is a Low Octave Fuzz, with fully independent controls for the fuzz and the octave. It’s a overdrive/fuzz summed up with a gnarly squared wave low octave, resembling a 8-bit bass synthesizer. Its octave has a range of one or two low octaves, selectable by a toggle switch and also has it's own separate bypass switch. The od/fuzz and octave work fully independent and used separately, but the magic really happens when you start blending them together and finding your sweetspots. You can create a large range of tones, that can be used on many different ways. It’s up to you to choose beetween a indie rock lead, a bass synth or a super mario bros sounding theme! No matter what you are into, the WhoctaHell will inspire you to create new music. Just do not forget, it is a beeast!

Electro Harmonix Synth9
Electro Harmonix Synth9
Electro Harmonix
The polyphonic SYNTH9 Synthesizer Machine transforms your guitar or bass with 9 presets that were precisely tuned to emulate the most sought after, vintage synthesizer sounds ever! From searing lead synths to spacey synth pads and deep, funky, synth bass grooves, it’s all accessible. The SYNTH9 is also super easy to use with DRY volume, SYNTH volume, CTRL1 and CTRL2 knobs that provide precise control over each preset’s parameters. If you dig the kind of classic synth sounds made famous on recordings by groups like ELP, EVH, Kraftwerk, Joy Division, P-Funk, Peter Gabriel and more, we think you’ll love the SYNTH9. TIPS ON GETTING OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE FROM THE SYNTH9 1. The SYNTH9 is generally best used as the first pedal in an effects chain. Place modulation, delay, and reverb effects after the SYNTH9. The unit will not perform well if placed in the effects loop of a guitar amp. 2. For optimal playability, set the guitar’s pickup selector to the bridge pickup and turn the volume knob all the way up (“10”). 3. Avoid placing a distortion or overdrive in front of the SYNTH9, which could muddy up the input signal and cause the tracking to be unstable. If you want to add overdrive or distortion, place it after the SYNTH9. 4. The SYNTH9 has a built in compressor that is active on the synth sounds at all times. We recommend you do not insert another compressor into your signal chain while the SYNTH9 is in effect mode. CLICK HERE to download a SYNTH9 suggested factory settings and User settings sheet.
